Meet The Team

Dr Joan Horgan was born and raised in Belmont. While a student at Belmont High, her interest in dentistry was sparked by working for a Belmont orthodontist. The love of learning and desire for education led to many years as a member of various dental teams.

Dr Horgan earned her BS from University of Massachusetts Amherst with honors in 1988, and here DMD, with honors, in 1993 from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine. With 32 years in private practice family dentistry in Belmont, her commitment remains steadfast in the community.

Dr Horgan is a member of The American Dental Association, The Massachusetts Dental Society and the Alliance of Independent Dentists.

Dr Joan’s greatest achievements are her three children (now adults), her dogs and extensive group of family and friends. That love and dedication to her own family is extended into her career, staff and patients.

HYGIENIST

Christine has been our hygienist for 3+ years.

Christine and her husband Matt love being involved with the girls sports and schools, seeing patients and their families teeth here in the office, and on fields socially all around town. As most patients already know, Christine is passionate about her Oral B electric toothbrush, flossing and motivating us all to do our best through home dental care everyday!

HYGIENIST

Sarah is a registered dental hygienist with experience in periodontal therapy as well as pediatrics. She has developed strong clinical and treatment-planning skills over the past 20 years of private practice.

Sarah graduated from the Forsyth School for Dental Hygienists in 2002, and from Northeastern University in 2003 where she obtained a degree in Heath Sciences. Sarah has knowledge in oral cancer, obstructive sleep apnea, diabetics and patient management including the pediatric population.

Sarah is a mom of two children and enjoys running, time at the lake / ocean, and skiing.

DENTAL ASSISTANT

Gisele comes to Dr. Horgan’s practice with an extensive and diverse background. She received her education and certifications at Bryman University and BU’s Goldman School of Dental Medicine.

With a background in endodontics and general dentistry, Gisele enjoys assisting patients and getting to know what makes them comfortable.

When not in the office, Gisele enjoys exercising, reading and spending time with her husband and two daughters. Gisele is bilingual, speaking both English and Portuguese.
